   The manager checks whether the selected firmware has right format and whether it is for the selected device before starting firmware update. The manager will display error message and stop updating firmware if the selected firmware is not valid. Users need to take measures and try again.

   Here are error messages and measures when failure is encountered before writing firmware.

Failed to update firmware ... [ERROR MESSAGE] Reason Measure
Firmware corrupted Firmware file has wrong format Select proper firmware for the device
Firmware not for [Device name] Firmware file is not for the selected device Select proper firmware for the selected device
Cannot make backup firmware information file No authority to write Set authority of SENABluetoothDeviceManager.app and its subdirectory SENABluetoothDeviceManagerArchive writable

   If still fails after taking measure, please send email to Technical Support (support@sena.com) with diagnostic logs which are created right before and right after pressing the [UPDATE >] button at the [Firmware update] page.
[Check list when updating firmware is not successful]
  • check whether the device is on.
  • check whether the device is connected to the Mac with the USB cable.
  • check whether the device is in the mode of managing device or updating device.
  • check whether the firmware to update is the firmware for the selected device.
  • check whether SENABluetoothDeviceManager.app directory and its subdirectory SENABluetoothDeviceManagerArchive are writable for the current user.
